2020 - 2024 INSTANT Project

The objective of the INSTANT project is to develop an integrated wearable sensor-based system using Inertial and magnetic measurement units (IMMUs) that enables the physiotherapist to efficiently assess these kinetic and kinematic parameters during physiotherapy sessions and aid them in clinical decision making. The project also aims to improve the accuracy of the kinematic and kinetic parameters by including inter sensor distance between the IMMUs. It is expected that the developed sensor system will help physiotherapists to effectively monitor and treat patients.

In this project we collaborate with Roessingh Research and Development (RRD, Enschede), Saxion University (Enschede), Gable (Hengelo) and TopvormTwente Fysiotherapeuten (Enschede).

In the context of this project the following type of assignments can be done : BSc project, MSc project, internships.

This research project is suitable for the following educational programs: BMT/BME, EE, TG.
