Bioinspired flow systems for cell culture

Bioinspired flow systems for cell culture

The objective of this PhD project is to develop a device which uses leaf venation patterns as a microfluidic supply system for a perfused, 3D cell culture system that allows for the long-term culture of cells, i.e. hepatocytes applied in toxicology studies. The project is a joint PhD project between Saarland University (prof. Andreas Manz) and the University of Twente.
