About

Osiris Course Entry is a UT-wide module for entering course information in Osiris, such as tests, aims and content, or other course details. Course information may vary per academic year, therefore the information will be requested each academic year.

The primary purpose of Osiris Course Entry is to streamline the course management process and ensure the right information is available for students in the Osiris Course Catalogue. The standard procedure for requesting course information is based on two steps: providing and checking. This process will start each quartile.

PROCESS 

  • Step: Provide course information

    This step is assigned to the lecturer who is responsible for providing / adjusting course information into Osiris (role: Information). In Osiris, the course information is registered per academic year. You will receive an e-mail if you have tasks waiting.

    Follow the steps below to provide the course information in Osiris Course Entry:

    1. Go to Osiris Course Entry: https://osiris.utwente.nl/osiris_cursusinvoer, use your UT-account to log in.
    2. Click on 'Courses' (Cursusaanbod), here you will find an overview of the courses assigned to you.
    3. Double click on the course you want to provide information for, an overview of this specific course is shown.
    4. Click on 'Details' for one of the sections to adjust the course information.
      1. Use the tabs at the left side of the pop-up to switch between sections
    5. When you have provided / adjusted all the course details, click on 'Approve current step'
      1. After approving, the process moves forward to a colleague for the next step: 'Check updated course information'.

  • Step: Check updated course information

    This step is assigned to the lecturer who is responsible for checking the updated course information in Osiris (role: Check). In Osiris the course information is registered per academic year. You will receive an e-mail if you have tasks waiting.

    Follow the steps below to check the updated course information in Osiris Course Entry:

    1. Go to Osiris Course Entry: https://osiris.utwente.nl/osiris_cursusinvoer, use your UT-account to log in.
    2. Click on 'Courses' (Cursusaanbod), here you will find an overview of the courses assigned to you.
    3. Double click on the course you want to check the information for, an overview of this specific course is shown.
    4. Click on 'Details' for one of the sections to check the detailed course information, a green dot will appear if the information has been updated.
      1. Use the tabs at the left side of the pop-up to switch between sections
    5. When you have checked all the course information, click on 'Approve current step' or 'Disapprove current step'
      1. Once approved, the course information is sent to the back office of Osiris, and the key users will finalize the course. 
      2. After disapproving, the process will return to the previous step 'Provide course information' and reassigned to your colleague

FAQ

  • I would like to offer a new course, what should I do?

    Please contact the study programme coordinator.

    A new course will be created in Osiris and filled with the 'core information' (course name, number of EC, quartile and lecturer roles). After that, the course will be available in Osiris Course Entry to provide detailed course information.

  • What should I do when I accidentally edited course information?

    Unfortunately, once edited (and saved), it's not possible to go back to the original information of the course. To recover the original information you can:

    1. Search the course information of last academic year in the Osiris Course Catalogue
    2. Contact the key users, the previous course information is stored in the back office of Osiris.

  • What will happen once the course information is provided and checked?

    Once the course information is approved, the key users will verify the course information. If everything is correct, the course will be finalized.
