The University of Twente, with JADS - Jheronimus Academy of Data Science, is leading an initiative to strengthen supply chains against cyber-attacks. This project, named "Digital Resilience in Supply Chains" (DReSC), is supported by Health~Holland and TKI Dinalog. It has earned praise in the CS4NL programme and gets backing from the Human Capital Agenda (HCA) ICT and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
In DReSC, an interdisciplinary team of experts and researchers is working together to understand the cyber risks in supply chains. By partnering with industry leaders and cyber-security firms, the project wants to create a culture where everyone is ready to fight cyber threats.
Dr Abhishta, leading the DReSC project, highlights the importance of collaboration in addressing the growing cyber threats: "We're looking to not just react to emerging threats, but proactively working towards a more secure and resilient supply chain infrastructure against cyber-attacks".
The project uses data-driven methods to identify vulnerabilities, develop solutions, and provide insights into creating a culture of security in supply chains. By carefully evaluating risks and running real life experiments, DReSC aims to show how suggested interventions can reduce cyber risks. The project does not solely focus on technical solutions but also focuses on raising awareness of cyber risks and promoting best practices. Besides, it explores methods to encourage partners to secure their supply chains.
DReSC wants to establish a standard for building resilient supply chains capable of withstanding cyber threats. By sharing their findings and collaborating with professional networks, they hope to influence global supply chain security practices positively.
The University of Twente is committed to making sure supply chains are secure as threats and vulnerabilities change over time!
Involved researchers
The DReSC project is driven by a team of researchers from both the University of Twente (UT) and the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (JADS).
This team includes leading scientists such as Dr Abhishta Abhishta, Prof Dr Martijn Mes, Dr Wouter van Heeswijk, Dr Jeroen van der Ham, Dr Marten van Sinderen, EngD. Jean Paul Sebastian Piest, Dr Jan-Willem Bullee, and Dr Reinoud Joosten from UT, each with their own areas of expertise within different faculties.
In addition, researchers from JADS - Jheronimus Academy of Data Science, such as Prof Dr Jos van Hillegersberg and Dr Giuseppe Cascavilla, are contributing to the project's interdisciplinary approach.
