Master COM

Communication Science

The one-year (full-time) Master’s Communication Science programme is an internationally oriented programme and is entirely taught in English. Students can start in September or February and can choose their own courses or decide to follow one of the three tracks:

• Social marketing and behavioural change
• Strategic organisational communication
• Society, media and technology

After this study, students can pursue a career in social media marketing or digital advertising by developing content strategies for behaviour change as a strategic communicator. Or start a career in public relations, corporate communications, or crisis communication management. Or they advise organisations and the public on how to deal with polarisation and fake news for example.

Double degree study programme Policy, Governance and Communication (COM/PA)

This double degree combines policy, governance, and communication. You learn how to deal with issues like crisis management, global policy, and trust in government. During the programme, you explore how democracy and media are changing. And how these two influence each other. You gain practical tools to create strong policies and communication strategies.

This 1.5 year programme ends with one joint master’s thesis. It encourages critical thinking and fresh ideas for the future of governance and public communication. In a time of fast technological change, misinformation, and complex challenges, this degree prepares you to work confidently in the public domain.

Completing the double degree programme will result in two Master degrees:

  • Master of Science in Communication Science (UT)
  • Master of Science in Public Administration (UT)
