What is it?
Assessment is not only about grading, ranking, and classifying. It can also be used to provide students with guidance and feedback on their progress. As a teacher, you can use formative and summative assessment activities to evaluate your teaching and come up with improvements.
What kind of support do we provide?
The Teaching Academy provides:
- Assistance on demand for all teachers and module/course coordinators. We can act as your sparring partner or assist you with specific issues. Just contact any of the BMS Faculty advisors.
- Assistance for teachers working on their UTQ assignments. Your BMS UTQ supervisor can provide help and guidance when you are struggling with the report about assessment for competence 3 of the UTQ.
- The Step-by-step guide for designing examinations was especially drawn up for BMS teachers to offer a supportive and practical approach for designing, grading, and evaluating an assessment, especially a written test.
At UT level (CELT/TELT), we provide:
- On the Teaching & Learning portal - Assessment site, information, tips, and ideas regarding testing and assessment. The Toolbox provides you with the practical information and tools you need to ensure high-quality assessment, organized according to the steps of the assessment cycle.
- On the site mentioned above, you can also find information about specific topics, such as: Assessing effectively and efficiently // Alternative assessments // MC questions for higher order thinking // Oral Exams.
- CELT/TELT created a dedicated AI Resource hub in Canvas to bring together relevant information about AI and education, including a part about AI & assessment, see: Resource Hub - AI in education
