R workshop for BMS teachers

Why this workshop?

Since 2020, research methodology and data analysis courses at BMS are taught using the statistical programming language R (previously that was using SPSS). Therefore, if you supervise students yourself, you also should be equipped with the proper basis in R, such that students can receive the supervision they need. Not only does R help you better supervise your students, but you can also use it to lift your analyses and research to the next level.

Structure

The workshop is split in two parts:

  1. First, we will introduce you to R, the way we teach R to students, and what you will be faced with and can expect of your students, combined with practice time on example datasets.
  2. Second, you will have the opportunity to bring your own data and existing SPSS scripts and practice your analyses in R.

After completing this workshop, you will be equipped with a good basis for working with R, enabling you to set the next steps yourself.
