Description project
Dutch society is confronted with an increased number of complex (cyber)security threats, such as cyber-attacks and terrorism. To remain a safe and resilient country, we must proactively detect and respond to these threats. Therefore, it is vital to increase the number of security professionals and organizations that can recognize security threats and respond proactively and effectively. Interorganizational collaborations, often called learning communities (LCs), that anticipate and act on potential (cyber)security threats ahead of the threat are crucial. However, these collaborations present challenges for both the professionals tasked with developing innovative solutions and the organizations responsible for implementing them. To meet these challenges, there is a pressing need for scientific insights, practical strategies, and effective tools that can support, guide, and accelerate innovation within and across LCs.
The part of the project we are working on focuses on how we can support and enhance the learning and innovation processes within LCs. Innovation in this context is often dynamic and non-linear, thus by using both video observations and physiology, we first want to develop a better understanding of what these effective processes look like. Based on these insights, we will design and implement a targeted training/intervention aimed at strengthening both individual and team innovation capabilities. This will help security professionals become more effective in developing and applying innovative solutions, contributing to a more resilient and safer society.
Expected outcomes
The expected outcomes of this project are threefold:
- Insights into critical moments contributing to the acceleration of innovation processes, and how they can be identified and dealt with in LCs
- Insights into what strategies and methods can drive, facilitate, and support effective innovation processes in LCs
- A training/intervention to support security professionals
