Description project
FORCE AI is a European initiative dedicated to unlocking the full potential of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education. While AI is already enhancing teaching and learning, its true power lies in transforming the entire institution – from administration to student support. FORCE AI addresses this opportunity by empowering universities with the knowledge, tools, and professionals needed to lead AI integration strategically and responsibly.
AI is transforming industries, with education leading the way. Many higher education institutions are already using AI tools, like chatbots and adaptive learning platforms, to enhance learning and meet diverse student needs.
But AI’s potential doesn’t stop in the classroom. Many essential administrative functions across the student lifecycle, such as application management, examinations, student support, and alumni services, remain largely untapped or are only sporadically addressed. By integrating AI into these areas, universities can streamline operations, reduce manual workloads, and make data-driven decisions that drive efficiency and innovation.
Embracing AI requires not just technology, but a culture of continuous learning and ethics to ensure responsible use across all areas of higher education. How can we effectively deal with this challenge?
FORCE AI believes that HEIs need professionals who can strategically integrate AI, aligning it with institutional goals while ensuring seamless adoption and innovation. These experts act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, helping to:
- Communicate AI’s benefits to HEI staff
- Organise training and address concerns
- Assess AI applications and identify improvements
- Ensure ethical, legal, and privacy compliance
This role aligns with the emerging AI Manager for Higher Education, a key position for leading AI implementation across HEIs!
Expected outcomes
FORCE AI project focuses on four main objectives:
- To raise awareness of Europe’s HEIs and beyond for potentials and needs of a systemic AI integration approach at HEIs
- To establish a transnational professional profile and Microcredential AI Manager for Higher Education
- To enhance HEIs capacities in a holistic AI integration through training AI managers
- To increase non-formal opportunities in management of AI applications at HEIs through providing a database of Open Educational Resources (OERs).
