Description of Assignment |
What does it mean to be a mental healthcare professional with increasing technological innovations? Digital health technologies are transforming the field of (mental) healthcare, which means that students and professionals need to redefine their professional identity in the context of this shift. Professional identity lies at the intersection of “who I am” and “what I do”. This project examines the interplay between professional identity and digital health technologies among healthcare students and professionals, specifically how (future) healthcare professionals adapt digital health technology to themselves, while simultaneously adapting their identities to the technology. As part of the internship, you can contribute to the qualitative part of this project by exploring different types of interviewing techniques aimed at capturing the dynamics of professional identity in relation to technology. You could explore how professional identity is qualitatively studied and support the team in preparation for conducting interviews with (mental) healthcare students or professionals. You could also assist in designing strategies to obtain a good representative sample for the study. We are looking for students who are curious to learn more about the concept of professional identity, how it can be investigated, and its connection with technology. Speaking Dutch is not a requirement for this position. |
