An empowering story: Qualitative interviews on experiences of older with in a narrative intervention for personal recovery

An Empowering Story is a narrative intervention that promotes personal recovery in persons with mental illness. The intervention is currently delivered and studied at Mediant and GGZ Breburg in groups of older adults with personality problems. As this is the first time the intervention is offered to this group, we also do a scientific study about experiences of participants that is part of a broader study on the effects of the intervention. The main goal is to study participants’ experiences with regard to personal recovery during the intervention. We will use semi-structured interviews based on an existing topic list that will last no longer than 45 minutes. We hope to include 6-8 clients, regardless of their improvements in personal recovery and including those who dropped out of the intervention. This allows a broad variety of experiences of clients.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a student who speaks Dutch. You will do 6-8 interviews, analyze them and write your thesis about this qualitative study.
What do we offer?
You will become part of the larger team. Interviews can be conducted with clients who currently participate in the intervention. Interviews are planned in June-July.
