The neighborhood budget in Amsterdam East district, also known as “Oost Begroot,” was recently researched by PhD candidate Jelle Turkenburg of the public administration section at the Uversity Twente and who is part of the broader REDRESS project. Jelle studied this process from the perspective of residents and another REDRESS fellow looked at the organizational perspective. The results of this study were used by the Amsterdam East district in developing a new form of Oost Begroot. Key lessons from that research can be read in 'Binnenlands Bestuur'.
