ECIU Micro-Credential

ECIU challenge-based learning (‘micro-credential’): Navigating the future of universities in Europe

In collaboration with the School of Innovation at the University of Trento, KiTeS will offer, starting in the spring of 2026, a 3 ECTS challenge (‘micro-credential’) focused on Transforming Universities in Times of Transition. This challenge is organized under the auspices of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities and is initially intended for 20 students from ECIU member universities who are interested in contemporary issues in higher education and leadership within university organizations.

The challenge will be organised in a blended format, consisting of both online and on-campus (in-person) activities. The program will commence with an online kick-off session, during which  participants will have the opportunity to meet each other and receive information about the challenge. This will be followed by an intensive on-campus week from 23 to 27 February 2026 at the School of Innovation, University of Trento. During this week, participants will work in teams and participate in lectures and workshops on topics related to the challenge.

After the on-campus phase, the teams will continue their work remotely, conducting in-depth research and development of their challenge-based projects. These projects are both result- and design-oriented and address real-world issues that (ECIU) universities are facing.

The designated contact person for the ‘Georgia seminars’ at KiTeS is dr. Harry de Boer.
