Go-Lab: Instruction and/or usability

Go-Lab is an online learning environment developed at UT aimed at helping teachers and students develop Inquiry Learning Spaces (ILSs). These are personalized learning spaces that can include digital labs (e.g., on STEM education), apps (e.g., supporting students and learning analytics), and any other type of multimedia material (e.g., video and animation). The theoretical foundation of an ILS follows the inquiry learning cycle consisting of the phases Orientation, Conceptualisation, Investigation, Conclusion, and Discussion. An ILS can be used for education or research.

Go-Lab has been recently designed and there are currently no instructions on how to use Go-Lab and create ILSs. In addition, the new design needs to be evaluated by actual users who could inform the design team behind Go-Lab on the environment’s usability and performance.

METHOD

There are multiple internships possible within Go-Lab. A few examples are:

  • Testing AI prompts to validate already existing ILSs
  • Creating instructions (e.g., video or text-based) on how to use Go-Lab.
  • Testing the usability of Go-Lab or specific parts of it (e.g., collaboration apps).
