The Netherlands Comprehensive Cancer Organisation (IKNL) and the University of Twente (UT) cordially invite you to the symposium ‘Data-driven risk-based decisions’ that will be organized prior to the doctoral defense of Tom Hueting, working at Evidencio and PhD candidate at the University of Twente, where he will defend his thesis: ‘Developing, validating, and evaluating clinical prediction models in breast and prostate cancer’.
With this symposium, the (IKNL and the UT wish to provide insight into the value of 'real world' data in supporting decisions in oncological care.
A selection of topics covered during the symposium:
- necessary translation of predictions to patient management via risk thresholds to health outcomes and costs
- interpretation of prediction models; the limitations and the opportunities
- Evidencio: an online platform for making prediction models available, dissemination, validation and implementation.
Target audience
The symposium is of interest for:
- researchers, care providers, general practitioners, nurse specialists, nurses in oncological care
- board members of patient associations
- directors, managers and policy officers
The final program will be posted on the website of IKNL. The program will take place from 12:00 to 16:00 hrs on the 22th of June 2022 in the Auditorium in the Technohal. Subsequently at 16.45 hrs. Tom Hueting will defend his thesis in the Waaier.
