Lifelong Learning Cafe
During this LLL Café, you will gain insight into how the Faculty of Engineering Technology (ET) approaches Lifelong Learning. Faculty members and colleagues working with professionals will share their experiences in developing education for working professionals and discuss how collaboration with industry and public organisations leads to new learning opportunities.
The programme features three to four thematic tables where concrete examples from practice will be discussed:
- Collaboration with the high-tech industry
How do we train more than 150 ASML employees each year in systems engineering? And what new developments are emerging within the Beethoven programme? With contributions from Maarten Bonnema - Engaging MSc lecturers in Lifelong Learning
How can we actively involve MSc lecturers in education for professionals? This table explores experiences with the integrated education approach within ET. With Wilma Dierkes and Alex Runneboom - Professionals in the EngD programme
What can we learn from professionals participating in the EngD programme and what opportunities does this create for future Lifelong Learning initiatives? With Hans Voordijk (tbc) and Wim de Boer - Regional collaboration with municipalities in Twente
An inside look at the development of a multi-year programme with more than fifteen municipalities in the Twente region, combining various forms of Lifelong Learning such as masterclasses, projects, continuing education and EngD trajectories. With Robin de Graaf (tbc)
Location: Gallery – Grand Cafe
Date: Tuesday 10 March (15.45 -17:00)
What is the LLL Café?
- An informal initiative to make UT’s LLL community more visible, inspire each other, and share experiences.
- Open to anyone at UT with an interest in Lifelong Learning.
- Simple format: a short plenary start followed by table sessions (30 min each) around specific themes. Always interactive—never just PowerPoint.
- Organised every 6–8 weeks in the Gallery from 16:00–17:00, with drinks and snacks.
- No registration required, but you can join as a “member” to receive Outlook invitations.
- Ideas for themes or would you like to host a table? Get in touch via lll-cafe@utwente.nl or reach out to one of the café hosts (Dick Wijnveen, Astrid van Os, Wim de Boer, Marije Hahnen).
We look forward to seeing you there!
