Before filling out the webform for the examination board be aware that we will check the grades in Osiris and (for skills only) check Canvas. You have to make sure the grades are visible and up to date. Due to some changes in the BIT programme as of 1 September 2025 we decided that the following transitions can be made for module 1 and 2:
Module 1:
- Programming Pearls (202400352): Computer Architecture (black / 1), Algorithmics (blue / 2), Intelligent Interaction (yellow / 3) --> dispensation for Computational Thinking with Python (202500203)
- Computing Fundamental Pearls (202400351): Computer Networks & Operating Systems (magenta / 6) --> dispensation for Databases, Operating Systems and Networks (202500204).
- Core of Module 1 – Computer Science --> dispensation for both courses above (202500203 and 202500204).
Module 2:
- Software Design (202400356) --> dispensation for System Design (202500206);
- Object-Oriented Programming (202400357) --> if passed Theory students can get dispensation for Principles of Object-Oriented Systems (202500207);
- Object-Oriented Programming (202400357) --> if passed Project and additional requirements students can get dispensation for Advanced topics in Programming (202500208).
It is possible to transfer grades of 5.5 or higher from specific TCS study units to the BIT programme.
- When multiple TCS results are combined into one BIT study unit, each individual test grade must be at least a 5.5, leading to a passing result in BIT.
- For Module 4 (shared module), grades will automatically be registered in your BIT programme (except for a C5).
- Note: a compensated 5 cannot be transferred to BIT.
To ensure a smooth transition, it is important that we are aware of your personal situation. You may already have had meetings with your Study Adviser. We would like to ask for your permission to transfer relevant information from the TCS Study Adviser to the BIT Study Adviser. This information will be treated confidentially and will not be shared with third parties without your consent.
You can request the transfer of the following courses via the Examination Board:
- M1 Programming Pearls (1, 2 & 3)
- M1 Computing Fundamentals (6)
- M1 Introduction to Math + Calculus 1A (4 EC)
- M2 Software Design
- M2 Programming Theory
- M2 Programming Project & Additional Requirements
- M2 Calculus 1B (3 EC)
- M3 Linear Algebra (3 EC)
- M3 Academic Skills (exemption if previously passed)
Please make sure to provide all required information with your request.
