For staff and PhD students: if your department is paying for you, please provide the name of your manager or supervisor and the project number to which the course can be charged. If you pay for the course yourself, you will receive an invoice.

If a formal test is part of the course, then passing the test is also a condition to receiving a certificate.

Candidates should contact the UT Language Centre in writing, stating full personal and course details. Course fees that already have been paid will be reimbursed. Administration fees already paid will not be reimbursed or transfered to a new course.
Cancellation by the course participant AFTER registration has closed will NOT lead to a refund. An exception may be made in the case of pressing personal circumstances, such as hospital admission. In such situations, a request for a refund can be made in writing, stating relevant personal and course details.
If the UT Language Centre has to cancel the course for which you registered, you will of course be fully reimbursed. See also our Terms and Conditions:

The University of Twente Language Centre (UTLC) caters to the learning needs of University of Twente (UT) staff and students regarding language, communication, and related skills. Under certain conditions, external parties can also participate in UTLC’s programmes, as well as use our services and support. The UT Language Centre is a member of the Vereniging van Universitaire Talencentra in het Nederlandse Taalgebied (NUT), part of the Confédération Européenne des Centres de Langues de l'Enseignement Supérieur (CercleS) and partner of the Universität Münster.
VERENIGING VAN UNIVERSITAIRE TALENCENTRA IN HET NEDERLANDSE TAALGEBIED (NUT)
NUT is the Dutch association of University Language Centres in the Netherlands and in Belgium. The association was founded in 1993 and has 23 members. NUT functions as a platform and as a forum: it stimulates members to exchange information, to share knowledge and experience and to network, and provides ways to combine expertise.
NUT categorises 6 thematic groups, which are:

CONFEDERATION EUROPEENNE DES CENTRES DE LANGUES DE L'ENSEIGNEMENT SUPERIEUR(CERCLES)
CercleS is a confederation of independent associations from 22 countries in Europe. The confederation was founded is 1991 and unifies around 290 language centres, institutes, faculties or schools in higher education.
Through this confederation, language centres in Europe are able to support each other in language trainings with the addition of technological and pedagogical resources. CercleS aims to promote research in foreign language learning at international level and to encourage international and interdisciplinary co-operation between language centres, in order to enable them to co-ordinate the pursuit of their objectives (Cercles, 2012).In order to achieve its aims, CercleS organises conferences, distributes a regularly printed bulletin to all its members, runs electronic bulletin boards and publishes its conference proceedings. CercleS also facilitates:
- staff training
- staff exchanges between centres
- research into language teaching and learning
- observatories on technological developments
- scholarly publication
WiPDaF - Wissenschaftliche Internationale Partnerschaften Deutsch als Fremdsprache
WiPDaF e.V. is a non-profit organisation aiming to improve the international co-operation between institutes and organisations by providing an academically-oriented course programme for German as a foreign language.
The UT Language Centre co-operates with WiPDaF e.V. for providing courses in German.

INFORMATION
Language skills, academic skills, professional skills … Apart from studying and accomplishing the curriculum, skills are getting more and more important, not only to study more effectively and successfully, but also to prepare you for your future career.
The UT Language Centre (UTLC) helps you practise these skills. We offer workshops, trainings and events in both English and Dutch on presentation skills, language courses, academic writing, brain training, entrepreneurial skills, business-model thinking, visual thinking or project management. For most language courses you only pay a non-refundable registration fee. All one-day study skills workshops are free of charge for UT students. For workshops that run for more than one day, we ask a non-refundable registration fee of 25 euro.
