Performance based funding and performance agreements in fourteen higher education systems

This report, commissioned by the Netherlands Ministry of Education, presents an overview of fourteen higher education systems where some form of performance-based funding (PBF) is in place. In particular, it looks at systems of Performance Agreements between individual higher education institutions and their ministry of education or funding council. The countries covered are: The Netherlands, Austria, Germany (North-Rhine Westphalia and Thuringia), England, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Australia, Hong Kong and the USA (Tennessee, Louisiana, South Carolina). CHEPS Seminar Series

From summer 2015 onwards CHEPS will offer the “CHEPS Seminar Series”. Researchers from CHEPS and experienced guest speakers will present their research on current issues in higher education policies. In summer 2015, the presentations are devoted to the theme “Governance, Policies and Innovations in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education”.
