Catalysis in the Process Industry (134516)

Almost all of the chemical and petrochemical processes are catalyst based. In this course aspects of catalysis that are important for industrial application are outlined. In addition to a general introduction to industrial catalysis, typical refinery processes such as cracking, alkylation, reforming, hydrotreating, and petrochemical processes as epoxidation, ammonia synthesis, oxychlorination will be discussed in detail. Students are required to make a literature study over a topic of current relevance, assigned to them.
