Lecture Giles Stacey Thursday January 15th
The Female Faculty Network Twente is inviting you to the lecture: “Submitting Successful EU Research proposals" An “Insider’s View” by Giles Stacey. Based on more the 15 years involvement in evaluating research proposals submitted to the European Commission, Giles Stacey will discuss the process and offer advice on how you can increase your chances of a successful outcome.

Lecture Margot Stilma, Thursday February 5th
The Female Faculty Network Twente is inviting you to a lecture on:“Gender study: the influence of gender on product design and styling" by Margot Stilma. The influence of gender on product design & styling is a multifaceted subject. It is on the one hand related to the consumer perspective, and therefore to the position of products in our experience economy. On the other hand, it is related to the designer perspective and the way designers design and style products. In this lecture a short overview, as introduction, is given of related factors to the subject with examples, values and dilemma’s, related to product design and styling.
International Womensday, Friday March 6th
To celebrate the International Women’s Day we invited Heleen Mees to give a lecture on her much debated topic: No more part-time feminism. Heleen Mees is going to focus on the following items:- Why is the one-and-a-half breadwinner model so popular in the Netherlands, comparing to other countries like Sweden or the USA. - What is the influence of this model/culture on the position of women in organizations? - Various investigations point out that in academia women work almost as much as a man, so working part time isn’t a good explication for the low number of female professors and associate professors in our university. - Recommendations for women and organizations to get more women on top.
Workshop Difficult People: Tuesday April 21th
The Female Faculty Network Twente is inviting you to a workshop on: “Dealing with difficult people” by Linda van der Wal on Tuesday 21 April from 13.30 till 17.00 hrs. in building Drienerburght. Do you know them too? Difficult bosses, co-workers and other people who are hard to deal with? As much we would like to avoid them, sometimes we have to deal with them in order to reach our goals. Generally that is rarely easy. In addition, the gender issue and the academic context also bring in special challenges. But fortunately, it can be managed.

The Female Faculty Network Twente is inviting you to a lecture on “The gender blindness of scouts” Recruitment and selection in academia by Marieke van den Brink on Tuesday 17 March at 16.00 h. After the lecture there will be a Netwerkborrel.
Film "Gender in communication" March 31th
The Female Faculty Network Twente is inviting you to a film presentation on: Gender differences in communication” by Deborah Tannen on Tuesday 31 March from 15.30 till 16.30 hrs. in the Blomzaal in building the Faculty Club.
After the film and discussion there will be a Netwerkborrel from 16.30 hrs. in the Proffenbar. So if you are not able to attend the film, you are very welcome to come to the borrel.

Lecture Gender Neutral Language: Thursday June 4th
The Female Faculty Network Twente is inviting you to a lecture: “Gender neutral language” by Julie Bytheway on Thursday 4 June from 16.00 till 17.00 hrs. in building Logica. The language that we use reflects and perpetuates something of the ethos of our society, and research shows that our language empowers men and disempowers women, often without conscious awareness, and often unnecessarily.
