Cycling through the Dutch Jungle, 30 November 2007
The FFNT invites its members, who are in The Netherlands for longer than six months, and who are eager to exchange experience on living in The Netherlands and working at the University of Twente, to join us at the Cycling through the Dutch jungle lunch-meeting.
Sinterklaas talk, Teusday December 11th 2007
The Female Faculty Network Twente is inviting you to a ‘Sinterklaas’ talk and ‘borrel’ Personal styling in a professional environment by Sandra Dierx from AB Personal Styling. The interactive lecture / workshop with personal advice will be from 14.30 till 17.00 hrs. and will end with a borrel. One of the tasks of the FFNT is to professionalize women at the university. Also adequate appearance and styling is an aspect of being professional.
Third Conference of the FFNT: Diversity
You are kindly invited to join the third conference entitled ‘Diversity’ of the Female Faculty Network Twente on Thursday, November 8, 2007. The goal of the morning session of the conference is to make both, women and men, aware of the impact of diversity on the quality of organizations. In the afternoon, workshops for FFNT members are organized.
WISER european festival October, 4-5th
WISER: More Women in Science, Education and Research. European Festival October 4 & 5, 2007.
There are enough qualified women to take on key positions in academia - if only those women and the academic institutions would recognise the opportunities for female talent in science, education and research. With W.I.S.E.R., a two-day European festival, we want to celebrate this female talent.
Lunch Lecture Val Jones, Wednesday October 10th
The Female Faculty Network Twente is inviting you to a lunch lecture: European funding under FP7 - some experiences in project acquisition. One of the skills that are crucial for a successful scientific career is the acquisition of projects. For this it is relevant to know what programmes are there, and what are the steps to take for project acquisition. The programmes are related to the specific research areas, but both, programmes and acquisition, contain a number of generic steps.
Vrouwen in de Wetenschap
Het Aspasia-programma is gericht op een adequate vertegenwoordiging van vrouwen in de hogere wetenschappelijke rangen, en heeft als doel het bevorderen van vrouwelijke wetenschappers tot universitair hoofddocent (of hoogleraar).
Minerva Prize 2008
FOM, Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter, presents the Minerva Prize in 2008 again for the best publication of a female scientist on a physical subject. Deadline to nominate candidates is 1st of November 2007. Candidates are also allowed to apply by themselves. The Minerva Prize is awarded with 5,000 Euro.
