Jose A. Alvarez-Chavez works at IPN-CIITEC in Mexico.
At OS he is a visiting professor working with BSc and MSc students on the functionalization of tapered, doped and un-doped micro and nano optical fibers for biomarker detection via the development of optical fiber-based test cells.
Besides, the intention is to substantially improve the fiber coupling efficiency into waveguide and micro ring laser platforms.
