Arturo Susarrey-Arce was born in 1981 in La Paz, B.C.S., México. He received his bachelor degree in Industrial Chemistry in 2004 by the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Monterrey, México. After his bachelor, and work in the electrochemical department at the same university, he continued working in Johnson Controls- México and Central America Battery Division, in the research and development department. Later on, he decided to continue his master degree in Material Science and Engineering with electronic materials science specialization, obtaining his degree in 2008 in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. In the same year and 2009, he was granted with various research fellowships, working in the synthesis of new semiconductors by diverse methods, optical properties characterization, and self assembled monolayer functionalization.
In February 2010, He started his PhD in the Novel Nanomaterials program at University of Twente, Enschede in The Netherlands, being part of the Catalytic Systems and Microdevices group (MCS and CPM) on a project entitled: electrostatic manipulation of light-alkane oxygenation at low temperature. His goal is to develop a microreactor which can generate an internal electrical field for catalytic testing reactions.
