Post-doctoral Researcher

Arturo Susarrey Arce completed his undergraduate studies in Industrial Chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, México (UANL). From 2004 to 2007, he worked at Johnson Controls-Battery Division. He continued with his master's degree in Material Science and Engineering at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). He did his Ph.D. at the University of Twente (2010 to 2014), The Netherlands on silicon-technology-based microreactors to study E-field driven chemical reactions with attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy (ATR-IR). From 2014-2016, he worked at the University of Liverpool developing biocide-free based technologies for antimicrobial surfaces and early detection of biofilm formation. In 2016-2017, he was awarded as an honorary invited researcher in the Open Innovation Hub for Antimicrobial Surfaces at the Surface Science Research Centre, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. From 2016-2018, he continued his research work as a research assistant fellow at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, focusing on plasmon mediated photocatalysis. Currently, at the University of Twente, his work relate additive manufacturing of three dimensional systems for (photoelectro)catalysis and sensing. His research interests are microreactor technology, microfluidic systems, micro & nanofabrication.
