Maik Schot studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Twente, majoring in Bionanotechnology and Advanced Biomanufacturing. In 2017 he spent 6 months as an intern in the Khademhosseini lab at Harvard-MIT and Brigham and Women’s Hospital working on microneedles for chronic wound healing. In April 2018, he finished his master thesis which focused on the development of a 3D in vitro model to study Alzheimer’s disease at the Nanobiophysics group of the University of Twente. In January 2019, he started his PhD at the Developmental BioEngineering group under the supervision of dr. J.C.H. Leijten to work on 3D bioprinting of complex tissues.
