At De Reactie, you celebrate King's Night in style with a mega techno rave on campus. With a huge sound system and amazing DJs on the line-up, such as Amelie Lens, FJAAK and Reinier Zonneveld, this festival promises to be a great party every year.
Koningsfestival
During King’s Night and King’s Day, the city centre of Enschede turns into one big party. Spread across different locations, you can party for two whole days to music from various artists, DJs and live bands. And the best: Koningsfestival is completely free!
Hardfest
Are you a fan of hardcore and hardstyle? Then Hardfest is the place to be. In April, this festival brings together the best hardcore and hardstyle acts on four stages on the campus. With artists such as D-Block & S-te-Fan, Rebelion and D-Sturb, Hardfest is a party to remember every year.
Bevrijdingsfestival
No festival guide is complete without the Bevrijdingsfestival (Liberation Festival) on May 5th. On this day – Liberation Day – the Dutch celebrate the freedom of the Netherlands after World War II, and there are festivals all over the country. Enschede has its own Liberation Festival on campus. With music from different genres and artists such as Antoon, Emma Heesters, STUK and Jonna Fraser, this is the perfect way to celebrate freedom.
Green Vibrations
What once started as a small party has now grown into a full-fledged music and arts festival: Green Vibrations. On Ascension Day, this festival takes over the campus with several stages where you can enjoy a variety of music: techno, hip-hop, rock, house and everything in between. Besides music, you can also enjoy theatre, art, food trucks and, last but not least, a Biergarten with craft beers.
Freshtival
At Freshtival, the biggest dance festival in the East of the Netherlands, you can party for not 1, not 2, but 3 days at the Rutbeek lake during the Pentecost weekend. More than 200 top artists from all genres perform here every year, such as Afrojack, Kriss Kross Amsterdam, Warface, Lucas & Steve and many, many more. For the real diehard festivalgoer, there is even the possibility to camp (or keep partying 😉) at the festival.
Batavierenfeest
Every year in April or May, the Batavierenrace takes place: the world's largest relay race with students running between Nijmegen and Enschede. However, the finish line on campus is just the beginning, as the Batavieren Party starts in the evening. It’s the largest student party in Europe, and you will celebrate the end of the race together with students from all over the Netherlands. Don't worry, even if you didn't participate as a runner in the Batavierenrace but still love a good party, you are more than welcome to join!
Stoer Voer
In Enschede, you won't only find music festivals, but also food festivals, such as Stoer Voer. At the beginning of June, the Van Heekpark turns into a culinary hotspot, where you can enjoy the tastiest dishes, music and delicious drinks for three days.
In het Volkspark
It’s one of the highlights of the summer: the In Het Volkspark festival, which, as you might have guessed, takes place in the Volkspark. At this pop festival, various well-known Dutch artists such as Flemming, Guus Meeuwis and Suzan & Freek perform every year in July. In Het Volkspark is, therefore, the perfect way to kick off your summer vacation!
Kick-In
August in Enschede means it’s time for the Kick-In. During the Kick-In, you will not only get to know the university and your study programme, but you will also dive straight into student life! With parties on campus and in the city centre every night, there is something for everyone, both new and current students. A not-to-be-missed event if you are studying at the University of Twente!
Onder de Radar
Every August, the abandoned military airbase Twenthe is transformed into a spectacular festival site for fans of house, techno and electro. With a line-up of top artists such as Benwal, Chris Stussy, and I Hate Models, combined with the unique location, you get a festival experience that you won't find anywhere else.
GOGBOT
GOGBOT is the place where multimedia, art, music and technology come together every September, each year with a different, remarkable theme. Scattered throughout the city, you will find all kinds of special exhibitions, and you can enjoy performances by many electro artists.
