Short description:

Professor Ariana Need will tell about the do’s and don’ts for people who want to get better in science. As a member of a committee who evaluates research proposals she will give tips and tricks for grant writing. Furthermore she will inform us about women in science; as a result of her research.

Short CV Ariana Need

She works as a full Professor Sociology of Public Governance at MB since 2009 at the UT. Before that she was an Associate Member at the Nuffield College in Oxford and Associate professor sociology at the Radboud University Nijmegen.

She studied at the Catholic University Nijmegen and her main subject was: Political Science.  She got her doctorate in 1997 in Nijmegen. The title of her thesis is: The Kindred Vote. Individual and Family Effects of Social Class and Religion on Electoral Change in the Netherlands, 1956-1994.

Speed dating

The aim of the speed dating session is to learn from the personal experience of the grant winners. You can discuss your doubts and curiousness about grant writing with them. We will organise two rounds, so there will be time to talk to two of the five persons. Please indicate the two persons of your preference when joining this lunch meeting.
