Description:

In today’s world where images are commonly used and shared by people, to name a few, social media platforms, and banking websites, a measure of concern is to protect our shared images from cybercriminals. There are several algorithms proposed for image steganography and the challenge is to maintain the balance between picture quality, embedding capacity, and security. Deepfake technology is a new direction to focus on these limitations where one can make use of deepfake algorithms for embedding the secret image in a steganography cover image that can further be communicated to the end recipient and a secret message can be hidden from a third party. The goal of the project is to review the existing techniques in this area that have been used in image steganography and propose a secure novel Deepfake-steganography technique by considering the existing challenges.

Requirements:

  1. Interest and knowledge of image processing, and machine learning
  2. Interest and basic knowledge in image steganography
  3. Good in Python/Matlab programming language
