Abstract:
The thesis aims to provide the research community with a method for assessing and benchmarking an organization's maturity level of their software development processes with the CMMI model. We designed an assessment method based on the CMMI model as a framework for process improvement, utilized several software development dimensions as assessment criteria, conducted several surveys based on these dimensions, presented the responses, and introduced improvements to process areas. The validity of the assessment method was performed utilizing a validation survey with open questions to gain feedback, and a quantitative analysis of software development metrics.
