Systems, Analysis and Computational Sciences

Brenny van Groesen holds the chair for Mathematical Physics in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente. His research interests are in mathematical modeling, water waves, coastal oceanography and environmental water. He concentrates on accurate water wave and coastal modeling using variational methods.

He is also Scientific Director of LabMath-Indonesia, an independent research institute in Bandung, Indonesia working on essential problems for Indonesia (www.labmath-indonesia.org)

Extensive software developed over the past years with various phd- and post-doc students, is now available for simulations of waves in laboratory wave tanks and in coastal and oceanic waters. Under the name HAWASSSI the software is available since September 2015 under licence of LabMath-Indonesia (http://hawassi.labmath-indonesia.org)
