Title: An extension of Hamiltonian systems that encompass Irreversible Thermodynamic systems
Abstract: The intrinsic description of open irreversible thermodynamic systems has given rise to the definition of control Hamiltonian systems defined on contact manifolds. In this seminar, we shall discuss some alternative formulations of models of Irreversible Thermodynamic Processes and analyze some their system-theoretic properties. We shall also analyze the structure preserving feedback of these systems, characterize a class of contact forms achievable in closed-loop and consider the stabilization of these systems.
