Mathematical Neuroscience for Brain Pathologies

Time-dependent neurological data is often subject to subjective visual interpretation, and understanding clinically relevant features remains a challenge. In collaboration with clinicians and neuroscientists, we analyse data and develop novel models with the correct biophysics. The models concern single neurons as well as neural masses and fields for populations. We develop tools for nonlinear and numerical analysis, to aid in clinical diagnosis and to seek novel neurostimulation protocols. Key application areas are ischemia and epilepsy.
