Biography
Pieter van Vugt was born in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, in August 1983. He received the BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands, in April 2010 and July 2013, respectively. His master thesis was in the field of EMC, Power Quality, and was about behavioral modeling of power consuming loads. The resulting models are to be used in a larger simulation for voltage disturbance prediction on the user network.
He is now working towards the Ph.D. degree in the Telecommunication Engineering Group at the University of Twente. He is researching the calibration approach for the space-based OLFAR radio telescope, which will consist of a swarm of nano-satellites. This research is part of the ‘Active Antenna System for low Frequency Radio Astronomy (DCIS)’ project.
