Make Your Voice Heard!

The Faculty of EEMCS invites motivated students and committed staff members to nominate themselves for election to the Faculty Council. This is an excellent opportunity to play an active role in shaping the future of our faculty and strengthening the quality of our education and research.

What is the Faculty Council?

The Faculty Council is a representative body that advocates for the interests of both students and staff within the Faculty of EEMCS. It serves as a vital link between the faculty community and faculty management, ensuring that key perspectives are heard on important matters related to education and research. The Council plays an influential role in shaping faculty strategy and policy by offering both requested and independent advice to the Faculty Board on a broad range of topics, including Education and Examination Regulations, Lifelong Learning, incentive grants, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Consisting of six staff members serving two-year terms and six students serving one-year terms, the Council actively contributes to decisions that shape the future of the Faculty of EEMCS.

As a council member, you will play a key role in:

  • Policy-making: Influence the faculty’s strategic direction, educational policies, and research priorities.
  • Decision-making: Contribute to decisions affecting educational programmes, resource allocation, and infrastructure development.
  • Advocacy: Represent and advocate for the interests of students and staff, helping to foster a thriving academic environment.
  • Feedback & suggestions: Provide constructive feedback on faculty initiatives and propose improvements to enhance both the academic and social environment.

Why Run for Election?

  • Influence change: Play an active role in the continuous improvement of our faculty.
  • Develop skills: Strengthen your leadership, negotiation, and communication skills that will benefit both current and future students and staff.
  • Expand your network: Work closely with a diverse group of people and broaden your professional and social connections.

Who Can Run?

All students and staff members who are enthusiastic about contributing to the mission of the Faculty of EEMCS are encouraged to apply. Whether you have prior experience in student or staff representation or are new to faculty governance, your perspective and input are valued.
