Engineer innate immunity to fight cancer

Cancer is a devastating disease that manages to evade our immune system. Pore-forming proteins are an essential part of our immune response; they destroy the cell membrane of pathogens or trigger programmed cell death of infected/diseased cells. In this project, you will perform genetic engineering to modify a pore-forming protein to recognize cancer cells, employing molecular cloning and protein biochemistry. BSc or MSc students welcome.
