Co-designing a website on the co-design of mental health interventions: Assist in ongoing research |

Location Enschede |
Period of internship November - February |
Description of Assignment |
Digital interventions (eHealth), such as wearables, online modules, and apps can provide support for people working on their mental health. Yet, for eHealth to be suitable and effective, the skills, possibilities, and limitations of target users need to be taken into account. This can be done by involving them in the development of new interventions from the start, through co-design. However, there is a demand for more knowledge on and attention for how such a co-design process can be conducted: what are examples, practical recommendations and activities to shape a co-design process? For this reason, we are currently developing a website offering practical guidance for a diverse audience of client councils, mental healthcare professionals, students, researchers, etcetera, and of course we are doing that through… co-design! In this internship, you will be part of the core research team consisting of designers (Panton), an innovation manager in a large mental healthcare organization (Dimence Groep), and (design) researchers (University of Twente). You will be involved in collecting and organizing relevant content for the website (from previous co-design projects or via stakeholders), translating it to fit a broad audience, and in setting-up and conducting usability tests of the website, together with the team. As such, you will not only learn about co-design, but be part of it yourself, and contribute to making it more accessible to others. Practical information: You will join our enthusiastic team in meetings and are also welcome to come work on location at the UT. Fluency in Dutch is helpful but not essential. |
