The assignment
In Transfore, a multisite institution in eastern Netherlands, forensic psychiatric patients are being treated. We aim to continuously improve treatment of these patients, among other things via research.
In risk assessment, leisure is considered one of the central 8, the most important criminogenic domains. In forensic psychiatry, research on the relationship between leisure and criminal recidivism lags behind. Hence, the subject is not well incorporated in treatment. To assist clinicians, we are conducting a scoping review on the subject and offer a student the possibility to conduct this review together with researchers from Transfore. Furthermore, to establish a link with clinical practice, the intern will also conduct several interviews with clinicians on how to improve the focus on leisure activities in treatment. You will be asked to develop a report on the review, with the possibility to participate in the publication of it.
Transfore harbours a small research department which comes together every Thursday in Deventer. Our department is part of the management office of Transfore. During this internship, you will be a member of our research group and of the management office and will be offered the opportunity to be part of this small but enthusiastic group of people.
We are looking for an independently working team player. A structured and organized mind might come in handy. Good organisational and communication skills are useful for the project. Mastery of the Dutch language is not necessary.
Besides interesting projects, we offer weekly meetings with an experienced supervisor. Transfore offers internship compensation in line with the CAO-GGZ. We also offer a place to work at, in Deventer for one or two days a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
