Flexible coping with stress in daily life: what works in which context?

Type of research: quantitative empirical

Description: People regularly experience stress in their daily lives. Prolonged stress can put an individual at risk for mental illness. Therefore, adequate stress-coping is important. However, what are the best coping strategies depends on contextual factors such as the type of stressor or the presence of others. In this project you will investigate how people cope with daily-life stressors using experience sampling (ESM).

Study: Experience sampling method study over the course of 2 weeks in daily life. Participants answer 8 brief questionnaires a day on stress and coping.
