Stakeholder Mapping

What is stakeholder mapping?

Stakeholder mapping means that the stakeholders are visualized in a map. These can be made by hand or with specialized software. A framework that can be used is that of stakeholder salience [1]. In this approach, stakeholders can be mapped based on their power, legitimacy and urgency. This can be done by both the project team and other stakeholders.

What kind of results can stakeholder mapping generate?

Stakeholder mapping provides an overview of the stakeholders. Moreover, the importance of the distinct stakeholders becomes clearer, because it is displayed visually.
