Presentations
For the 39th IRT Workshop, we aim to reflect on the field of psychometrics—its development, current state-of-the-art, and future prospects—particularly its intersection with emerging technologies such as AI. We are very pleased to announce that we can welcome two distinguished keynote speakers to guide our reflections on these themes.
Prof. Dr. Paul de Boeck needs little introduction for many in our field. He has held positions at KU Leuven, the University of Amsterdam, and Ohio State University, where he has been Emeritus Professor since 2023. He has served as President of the Psychometric Society and received its Lifetime Achievement Award. As a lifelong contributor to psychometrics and quantitative psychology, he has profoundly shaped the field.
Dr. Maria Bolsinova is currently an Assistant Professor at Tilburg University. She has previously worked as a Research Scientist at ACTNext, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Amsterdam, and earned her PhD from Utrecht University. As a Psychometric Society Early Career Award winner, she applies new technologies to advance educational innovation, with the goal of enabling personalized adaptive learning at scale.
Together, Maria and Paul offer unique perspectives on both the history and future of psychometrics and IRT. In light of the rapidly evolving landscape of AI, we look forward to exploring potential future directions for the field with them.
