Inventory of Research Excellence Policies in Selected Countries
This study is part of a research project on policies for scientific excellence by the Rathenau Institute (see URL). The aim of the broader project is to draw lessons from an analysis of 25 years of scientific excellence policies in the Netherlands. As part of the project an international overview of excellence policies in four countries was conducted. The analysis compared initiatives in Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and the UK and is based on secondary sources and 14 expert interviews.
