James Otieno Jowi successfully defended his dissertation

On June 13, 2018, James Otieno Jowi successfully defended his dissertation at the University of Twente. As a CHEPS PhD student, James investigated the leadership styles of deans in Kenyan higher education and the consequences of these styles on staff commitment. He used the theory of reasoned action, the competing values framework and the three component model of commitment for answering his research questions. Data was collected through desk research, a survey amongst the deans and interviews with faculty staff. His dissertation titled "Deans in Kenyan Universities. Their leadership styles and impacts on staff commitment" can be found here.
