The following project results or "Intellectual Outputs" (IOs) are expected in project precius.
IO1 – systematic literature review
A systematic literature review on the necessary competencies of environmental engineers, public procurement leaders, public procures, and entrepreneurs for sustainable innovations are performed, and the assessment of European projects, NGO, and consultant reports. Next, in European higher education institutions and practitioner organizations, a systematic search of available courses and training materials on the topic will be performed on environmental engineering, public procurement, leadership, change management, and entrepreneurship within the context of sustainable innovations for public procurement. Existing learning resources will be identified and assessed for their usefulness for further use or research.
IO2 – world café
IO2 aims to prepare a quantitative study via a World Café series and/or expert interviews in several partner countries (IO3). The qualitative research will be related to the internal and external barriers and the opportunities that environmental engineers, public procurement leaders, public procure, and entrepreneurs face in providing sustainable innovations to society. The research will focus on organizational constraints, best practices, and individual, competency-related barriers and best practices. As a result, a series of effective and efficient best practices for sustainable innovation sourcing and supply will be known, such as identifying key barriers and enablers to embedding sustainable innovation procurement practices in public organizations.
IO3 – a quantitative study
IO3 aims to verify the qualitative findings from IO2 and find the essential issues for competence development in purchasing sustainable innovation developed by environmental engineering in public organizations and supplying these via SMEs. The survey answers the question of the crucial competencies for gaining performance outcomes in the form of sustainable innovations based on and decided after the qualitative study.
IO4 – design of an online course
In IO4, we will design a course with four 1 ECTS modules and a forum platform to exchange best practices that connect the modules. The course will be available for three targeted learning groups/communities. The courses are designed for target learning groups/communities to acquire competencies to collaborate and co-create with the other target learning groups/communities. Also, an interactive forum on the online platform will be designed for communication between all three target learning groups/communities. It aims to be another additional way to create an understanding of one another.
IO5 – construction of the MOOC
The fifth output is the carrying out of IO4, as described above. It is about producing MOOCs and forum platforms and disseminating them freely for the most significant impact. The modules will contain a form of certification or award with micro-credentials, such as a "badge," via the online platforms of ECIU University.
The PRECIUS project will finalize one online course with four concise 1 ECTS online modules published on the online platform of ECIU University (in total 4 ECTS). The online platform will provide the awarding of the completion of each 1 ECTS module with a micro-credential like a "badge" (1 ECTS represents a study load of 28 hours). Hence, the online course with four modules will be available after completion, including a connecting online platform. Understanding each other's position is created by switching roles in the assignments in the modules by "trading places."
