15 large stakeholders from the private sector have recently signed the Governance code ‘Safety in the Construction Sector’.  The intention is to improve safety in the construction sector at large, looking at safety at different levels and, by standardization, education and professional training, sharing of information and learning from each other. The 15 stakeholders that signed the governance code are: Acta Safety Professionals, AKD Lawyers & Notaries, Ballast Nedam, Ministry of Defense, Dura Vermeer, Heijmans, KIVI NIRIA, BAM, ProRail, the Government Buildings Agency, Rijkswaterstaat (part of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment), Strukton, TBI, Unica and VolkerWessels. The Centre for Risk Management, Safety and Security contributes to risk management and safety in the construction sector through (MA and PhD) research projects.
