In July 2007, the Dutch Organisation for Research (NWO) has granted a VIDI contract in order to study the possibility of electron teleportation on a chip by means of superconducting electron entanglers and spin-polarized beam splitters. Entanglement in superconducting structures
Superconducting Cooper pairs form a quantum spin singlet state. Therefore, a superconductor can be the ideal source of entangled electrons. After locally separating the entangled electrons, spin filtering or manipulation can take place in spin-polarized beam splitters.
