General information

My name is Thijs Bruins Slot and I’m a master student in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Twente. As a kid I’ve always been fascinated with technology nature and biology. I started with a bachelor in Biomedical Technology in 2010, which turned out to be an ideal match for me, combining science and technology with a hint of biology. I developed an interest in medical imaging modalities (MRI in particular) and image processing. This motivated me to follow the Imaging and Diagnostics master track for the Biomedical Engineering master which I started in 2014. I am currently doing my master thesis here at the NeuroImaging group.

Research interests

During my bachelor‘s thesis I tested the feasibility of sensor fusion with inertial sensors and optical tracking using the Microsoft Kinect. During the master phase I completed an internship research project at the AMC in Amsterdam, where I described MRI artifacts resulting from biliary stents with a pulse sequence independent method. During my master thesis at the NeuroImaging group I will be looking into optimizing arterial imaging in low-field MRI to determine the feasibility of interventional surgery in low-field MRI.
