Gülistan Kocer, M.Sc.
Gülistan Kocer was born in Silvan, Turkey on March 10th, 1988. She received her BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey in 2011. As a part of her undergraduate studies, in the fall semester of 2009, she attended the Technical University of Denmark within the scope of an ERASMUS exchange programme. In August 2013, she received her MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering (cum laude) at the Department of Tissue Regeneration, University of Twente (UT) where she investigated the genome wide regulation of gene expression in osteogenic cells in response to surface structural properties of calcium phosphate ceramics. The work was carried out in the group of Prof. Dr. Jan de Boer and co-supervised by Dr. Roman Truckenmülller and Dr. Pamela Habibovic. From October to December 2013, she worked at the same department under the supervision of Dr. P. Habibovic on a project involving topographical modification of polymer substrates for cell studies.
Since December 2013, she is a PhD candidate in the Molecular Nanofabrication group under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ir. Pascal Jonkheijm. The aim of her project is to manipulate and investigate cellular behaviour using dynamic/stimuli responsive biomolecular functionalities on lipid bilayers.
