I was born on January 10th, 1980 in Iskenderun (Turkey). I obtained my bachelor degree in chemistry from Chemistry Department of Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2003. Since I was interested in organic chemistry, I joined the group of Prof. Dr. Metin Zora at METU. I studied organometallic chemistry during my master education from 2003 to 2005. Specifically, my work included the use of Fischer carbenes in the synthesis of cycloheptadienones incorporating ferrocenyl moiety. During these two years, I also worked as a teaching assistant at Atilim University. Since January 2006, I am working as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jurriaan Huskens and Prof. Dr. Julius Vancso at the University of Twente. My research focuses on the synthesis of poly(ferrocenylsilane) block copolymers and the applicaton of them to surface structuring on multiple lengthscales by combining self-assembly with top-down methods.
