University of Twente, Ph.D in Inorganic Material Science group, Fulltime

Complex oxide interfaces exhibit a high mobility electron gas. This PhD project investigates the fabrication and transport characteristics of interfaces between various materials combinations with the aim to understand the fundamentals of the materials science of growth at hetero-epitaxial interfaces,emphasizing the development of the electronic reconstruction

2/2008 – 12/2009:

Junior Consultant at the company SolMateS (Solutions in Material Science). 8 hours a week.

SolMateS is a knowledge-based company specialized in functional thin films and coatings. Responsibilities include research, development and advising on several projects. Customers include Sensata, Bolletje and the European Union.

5/2007 – 2/2008

Senior coordinator Science on Tour. 15-30 hours a week.

European organisation that promotes technological studies in German and Dutch regions. Not only Applied Physics but also Chemical Technology and Electrical Engineering are promoted. Promotion includes education of studies, but also small experiments are conducted and explained. Responsibilities include planning, organizing and evaluating activities, chairing coordinators meetings, financial administration. Visitors in 2007: over 30.000. Budget involved for the project: €250.000,-

5/2007 – 2/2008:

Coordinator for promotion of Applied Physics. 10-20 hours a week.

The organisation of internal and external promotional activities to educate people about Applied Physics. Responsibilities include planning, organizing and evaluating activities, chairing team meetings, administering job applications. Visitors in 2007: over 15.000. Budget involved: €80.000,- a year.



4/2007 – 10/2007:

Editor Focus Online. 10 hours a month. (two-weekly online magazine for students’ union for Applied Physics).

9/2006 – 3/2007:

Secretary of the board for horseback riding club D.R.V HippoCampus. 10 hours a week.

Responsibilities include being the contact person for members, maintaining external relations, members administration.

Member promotional team Applied Physics. 10 hours a month.

3/2006 – 10/2008:

Writer Focus and Focus Online. 10 hours a month. (two monthly paper magazin and two-weekly online magazine for students’ union for Applied Physics). Contributed scientific items in a total of 12 editions.

Active member of the student association for Applied Physics (SV Arago) and horse back riding club D.R.V. HippoCampus.
